Having oily skin is very frustrating. It is almost like a daily struggle that you have to deal with, right from the time you wake up until you fall asleep. We bet you have come across plenty of people who had different suggestions or comments to pass about your shiny, oily skin like your friends often mock about your tendency to carry blotting sheets and wet wipes everywhere you go. We totally understand your urge to wash your face almost every hour, especially during the summers  . But there’s only so much you can do to treat the oily skin. However, if you can’t change your skin type and are going to have to live with it forever, why not embrace it and instead use some natural remedies that combat the oiliness.

1)    Tomatoes

Tomato salad is great for your body, but not many are aware of its benefits for the skin. They should be your best friend especially if you have an oily skin. All you need to do is apply half a tomato on your face, leave it on for 10-15 minutes and rinse it off with cold water. Tomatoes contain a good amount of anti-oxidants that help keep the skin remain fresh and glowing.

2)    Oatmeal

Oatmeal helps calm inflamed skin and absorbs excess oil. It is also a great exfoliator.

3)    Lemon

Lemons are a blessing for everyone with an oily skin. Along with tightening pores, the acid in lemon and other citrus fruits also helps in absorption of oil. Aloe Vera is known for soothing many skin conditions. Evidence also shows that the medicinal plant helps treat flaky skin caused by oily patches. Apply a thin layer before bedtime and leave it on till next day. You can also make a concoction of aloe vera and cucumber for reducing the oiliness on the skin. Grate the cucumber and extract its juice. Add two tablespoons of aloe vera gel, mix them well and apply on your face. Apply this mask daily.

Most importantly, remember to stay happy and avoid stressing too much as it eventually reflects on your face. And don’t forget to pamper your skin every day.
